Partnership in the Ministry at Canby Grove
Canby Grove is a special place that frequently contributes in a major way to guests in their life-changing events and decisions. It is a place that draws natural partnerships from persons who have experienced those changes, as well as others who just want to participate by extension in such an effective ministry. For us a “Partner” is a person, church, business, foundation, or such that lends a helping hand through giving of time, resources, counsel, and/or skills.
Canby Grove has two primary needs for Partners and what they contribute. One is to the development of the campus. Guest fees cannot be raised high enough to provide for the major equipment, buildings, and the upgrade of systems (such as water, new roofs, and electrical). A ministry celebrating 80 years requires constant care and develops its own set of aches and pains. The other is to scholarship campers: children, youth, and sometimes, even adults. Nearly every young person who comes to an event here is subsidized. Youth leaders and parents constantly struggle with event costs, and our passion and calling demands that we step up as best we can.
You can easily see how Partners play a critical role. As you contemplate your stewardship I ask you to think about including Canby Grove. There are many ways: monthly cash, securities, properties, insurance policies, annuities, your estate, and linkage to granting institutions and their leaders. Your employer may match your gift. In many cases there are real tax benefits to what and how you give. Also highly valued are those who come to share their skills and work in projects. Call or e-mail if you have questions or need help.
There is always a major project to assist with – such as
- A long-awaited Master Site Plan is in the hands of an experienced planner. This is the first step in knowing how to move into the future with facilities that will meet the need and give us a priority basis for accomplishing the vision. This $50,000 project has already completed the regulatory and activity needs assessment phases. The steps of a full and complete survey, traffic study, layout concept, and submission for county approval lay ahead and wait for funding.
Now you have an idea of what Partnering with Canby Grove can mean. Give it some thought and see if this is something you should join in with.
